Toyota needs to salvage the sales on the tacoma. Bring back the 4.0 v6 and offer the supercharger option again on the tacoma. And offer a V8 option in the tundra.

Toyota is in a BAD spot. They're $250 Billion in debt and can't drop the prices of their vehicles 20-30%. To put that into perspective, Toyota has MORE DEBT than Ford, GM and Honda combined. I see bankruptcy for them.

I could live with the 4cyl the turbo the made in Mexico. But after 3 years of $8,000 market adjustments and not passing some savings to the customers. Last nail in the coffin. Watching tundras blow motors made me buy a gmc 2024 2500 hd might have to get a gmc canyon for the wife even though she wanted a Tacoma for years.

These new generation of tacomas are completely horrible designed inside out & having a 4 banger engine & nerve of these dealerships asking for thousands more is laughable.. these garbage cans will be sitting on their lots for long time & hope the rats & mice chew all the electrical harnesses on these piles of junk..

Even 40 grand is 10 grand more than Im willing to pay.

Designed in the USA, Made in Mexico, and add a 10-15k no reason price jump. yeah, wonder why they're sitting. Don'y forget the Ranger. All US made and about 4k cheaper. Better trunk IMHO as well!

What I would do for the engines is have the v6 and have the 2.5l N/A 4 cylinder since its an engine designed for efficiency and its more reliable (we have a rav4 hybrid with over 130k miles and its still going strong). Thoughts?

Toyota missed it with the 4cyl turbo. The hybrid is somewhat tolerable because of the high torque. We're already seeing overheating turbos on larger tires in snowy conditions. What happens when people tow in the south?

2021 Tacoma TRD Off-road owner here who overlands and has modded my truck more than $20k of improvements. Toyota's new CEO can go self pleasure himself with his garbage amped 4-banger ricer engine and his $15k markup. My TRD Off-road was $40k out the door in 2021. Straight six. The CEO won't last five years but he will be crash Toyota. Also, bottom quality Mexican manufacturing? Those cars ain't worth $10k bro. Trash assembly, you Japanese CEO idiots apparently don't know we Americans are onto. Sell us shit and you'll be bankrupt.

People can’t afford $45k plus for a compact trucks . Full size trucks also very expensive. I need a pick up truck for my landscape business BUT they want a lot for these trucks and interest is insane . So I will keep using my old truck.

Small displacement turbocharged engines, No thanks! You can thank the E.P.A. for the profusion of these powertrains due to the city mpg test that gives the turbo engines an advantage that is only present in the test cycle and not present in actual driving. And there is no escaping the fact that small turbocharged engines do not last as long as their normally aspirated counterparts and cost more to service and repair. Both facts that industry insiders have known for a long time and consumers are just starting to realize. Nissan is loving it right now and is leading the midsized truck sales in the USA by a large margin at this point in 2024 with their N.A. V/6 engine.

Still driving my 15 year old Toyota FJ cruiser. The older cars were better than the newer cars and you can keep them running by learning about them and staying ahead of the maintenance. There is no way I would pay today’s prices and interest rates.

Lots of new brands will be in the 75-80k range . Range Rover, bmw x5, Lexus gx, audi q8, jeeps, dodges and none will have the reliability and or resell of the new Land Cruiser. (The new Lexus will be the closest the next 3-5 years ). Just watch how this new one becomes a legend over time. The torque etc will make it way better than prior years. The technology as well. They don’t build these if they don’t see what a consumer wants. Note everyone wants the third row seat vehicles. The new 4 cylinder won’t be gathering dust on lots. Just an opinion and I have owned many toyotas.
